New Years last year

I am so excited about New Years this year! I have just had such a great year in 2009 being blessed with my sweet baby. Life seriously can't seem to get any better for 2010. I longed for a baby for so long, and now that I have her... I am on Cloud 9, always! My life seriously can't get any better than it already is. I am SO happy!

I have SO many things that I want to improve on for this upcoming year & will do another post on that another day. Man I am behind, I still don't have Christmas up!

Here are some pics from last years New Years when I was pregnant with Ave:

Organizing!

I know I still haven't posted my Christmas pictures & promise I will soon! I have SO many & have just been SO busy organizing & trying to get better from this awful sickness!

Today I organized several cabinets with my mom along with my craft box & Avery's closet! It was getting out of hand! I seriously had all of my stuff to make her bows piled in a bag, literally. It was awful. So I went to WMT & bought storage for everything!

I wanted to get some things done before the New Year! Speaking of, I am looking forward to some exciting plans we have with friends. I'm needing to get out of the house & have some adult conversation.

We have so many great things coming up with the New Year to look forward to. We have a huge family vacation planned in Gulf Shores, Avery's fun crazy 1st Bday party that I am already planning, game nights with girls, "The Bachelor" nights on Monday nights...I can't tell you how tickled I am about this show coming on! One of my girlfriends put together a girls night for us to all sit around & watch this! There are definitely some fun new things going on & I am so excited about them!

I am also going to be doing a 21 day journey with our church coming up in January. I will go into detail later but I am STOKED to see what God is going to teach me during this time. It's time to get some things right for 2010!

Quick "Sickling" Update

In my last post I had mentioned that we have all been sick! I have had this horrible cough on & off for 2 weeks & actually lost my voice for 3 days! Finally Monday I was able to go to the doctor & I have Bronchitus. The doctor said to get lots of rest & gave me some amazing cough medicine that knocks me on my booty! Im feeling better, slowly but surely. Last night one of my good girlfriends brought me some dinner. Chad & I were so thankful! We are so blessed with great friends during hard times!

Avery also went to the doctor & has a lot of fluid in her ears, a horrible sore throat with a bad cough, & a very stuffy nose. They put her on an antibiotic & told us to give that to her with benedryl & tylenol. So far today she has been a new baby! She still has a minor cough but is feeling so much better & playing a lot. She has continued to say, "Mommmmaaa" NONSTOP! You know I adore that.

My mother came over today & helped me get a lot of things done & organized. She is so wonderful during hard times, & is just the medicine I have needed here lately. She is coming back tomorrow to finish! Im looking forward to this household getting back in order so we can enjoy the New Year. We have some fun plans with friends on New Years Eve & I am looking forward to it since I have been cooped up for so many days.

After Christmas Sicklings

You heard it! We are sick, again! My goodness... part of my New Years Resolution is to start taking vitamins on a daily basis. I have been getting colds like crazy this year. Can't seem to get rid of them. I think alot of it is do to my running & lack of sleep. The bad news is now Ave is sick, bad. She has ran an on & off low grade temp, been spitting up, coughing, sneezing & having a bad runny nose. It's been very hard. But... LOTS of TLC & kisses seems to be just the ticket. It's the cutest thing- everytime I suck her nose she says, "Mom-mom-ma-ma-ma"... LOVE IT!!!!!

Anywho tonight I was thinking of how so much has changed since last Christmas & thought I would post a few pics in a collage of this year verses last year to compare. It's crazy that I was pregnant with Avery this time last year & how this year I already almost have a 7 month old. God is mighty good though isn't he? I have SO much to be thankful for & so many changes I want to make for 2010.

I think it's sad that we all have to start changes for the "NEW YEAR"... I want to make it a goal to try to make them as I see fit all throughout the year. I already started a few before the New Year & weeding some things necessarily that were holding me back and keeping me from going strong! And I must say, I have NEVER felt better!!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Cards

This year I wanted to do something fun so these are the cards I decided on to mail out to family & friends for Christmas...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting cards in the mail. I'm like a kid & run to the mailbox like there is candy in there or something. I love to see every one's cards, pictures, greetings... it is so fun to me! Here are all my greetings so far this year:

We are enjoying these few final days before Christmas. I have been busy wrapping presents, finishing up some shopping, & baking a little here & there, and of course spending time with my baby girl before her first Christmas. I swear, she has changed so much in the last 2 weeks! I will have updates after the Holidays. Tomorrow we are going to see Santa, so I am looking forward to that!

Chris Tomlin & Lights

Friday night we went to the Chris Tomlin concert at our church with some of our good friends. We had dinner at Fish City & then headed over afterwards. The concert was amazing. It came at such a great time of my life when I needed to hear the worship & be in God's presents with good friends. We all bought tickets months ago so we have been waiting for a long time for this. It is for sure a concert you want to see sometime in person. Chris Tomlin is AMAZING!

Saturday night we all met up again with my brother & sister in law & went out for Italian & then headed to see the lights on the square. It was COLD but we all braved the weather & enjoyed taking a few pics...

A word from the heart

I thought I would do a quick blog without pictures & just take the time to thank the good Lord for all the great things he has blessed me with. Sometimes I feel that I have gotten caught up in the business of life that I forget the true meaning of Christmas. Between parties, shopping, wrapping, & cooking... we have stayed so busy... I have even now lost my voice! Chad is sick this evening, & we have juggled on & off with Avery not feeling the best the past few weeks.

I have been going through so much lately, that I am trying to really hoan in on the importance of life & being in "this moment". It seems like I woke up one day & my baby is saying "Momma"... YES- she said it! The greatest joy ever right here before Christmas- AND the best Christmas present at that.

With that, I have decided for 2010 that I am going to focus on getting back into the Bible & making more time for myself along with staying in with my baby more. I think I was so scared that I would become depressed after having her that I made myself this crazy mad woman that felt I had to be on the go alot. Sometimes when you don't slow down & just relax, you miss the most important moments! It reminds me of a quote that I always loved..."Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going to fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why." Although I do love my weekly visits to Hobby Lobby...I still plan to SLOW this cart down and enjoy a few days a week home, playing with Avery & teaching her all that I can!

....I am thanking my Jesus today for great friends, family, my baby... my life! I have much to be thankful for & a husband out of this world who loves me to the ends of this earth. Im looking forward to an amazing week before this special first Christmas with our baby.

HUGS to all!

New shoes...New highchair

Someone got some new shoes & was sporting them today... TOO CUTE!

Chad & I decided to go ahead & order Avery a highchair for Christmas. We got her some other gifts too, but this was a much needed one. She is already loving it. We fed her for the first time in it tonight & she was just eating it up... literally!

Glamourous

I was tickled to receive the "Glamourous Award" from Crystal over at "Crystal's Life".. thanks girlfriend! ;)

Yesterday was a great day! Im not feeling 100% myself yet, but managed to host a monthly blogger lunch with a few gals of mine. Our friend Jenn started this thing where we all meet up for lunch to just chat & catch up on life. We usually do it once a month so this time I hosted. I made chicken salad sandwhiches & everyone else brought sides to go with. It was fun!

Last night was also our annual Kitchen Queens Christmas Party. We all enjoyed Mexican Food & an ornament exchange!

MORE Christmas Decor... Oh my!

Today I am not feeling the best. I have had a cold coming on & last night was up most of the night with a sore throat. I got up 2 times to gargle with salt water. I think I have been running myself thin with a lot of parties & gatherings & hope things slow down over the next few weeks as Christmas approaches. I would like to relax before the Holidays because we have a lot of family events we are attending. I have some shopping to still do, & lots of wrapping. I plan to start some of that today actually, while resting here with my baby girl.

On the Avery front, she isn't sleeping well. My nights have been consumed with waking up every hour or so with her. She had her shots last week & has been doing much better, however with this teething it's been a nightmare for me. You can tell she is in some pain, bless her heart. We also dealt with a little constipation Saturday which made it a hard night Saturday night. I gave her a little apple juice & she seems to be doing much better. It's so hard with babies because right when you think you have something down, things change. Their sleep patterns, eat patterns, even them in general! She is sitting up on her own, bouncing in her little chair, & giggling at everything. The hardest thing for me right now is she isn't napping, so I think she is SO tired by the end of the day that she becomes restless all night. I have been working to find a solution for this & trying everything I possibly can to get her to sleep during the day, for at least an hour. But, she is the BEST baby when she is alert. She doesn't fuss all day, loves to play, & is always SO good with others. I feel so blessed for that.

In the mix of all of this I have still been decorating for Christmas! I think I have gone a little crazy this year since it's Avery's first Christmas. Also since I am home all the time now I like everything SUPER cozy. The lights are on all day & I burn candles like crazy! Here are a few things I have been working on decorating, as if I need more clutter...

I added this to my guest bathroom:

My mom had a lot of colorful balls she wasn't going to use anymore & gave them to me, so of course I made a fun wreath for my front door:

I added some garland in my kitchen...

I also added garland to the top of my light:

We did a lot of resting Saturday & Sunday.. Chad got a picture of me & Avery asleep in the chair on Sunday afternoon...

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Parties Galore!!!

We have had a lot of parties to attend lately so I am going to just let the pictures do the talking & save some energy! =)

Thursday night was Avery's first Christmas Party. We had a lot of fun!!!

Friday night was Shane's 30th Bday & it was "Casino's Themed"... Chad wore his poker hat, it was so fun!

Cruz is my girlfriend Amy's little boy, & is Avery's boyfriend, hehe! He turned one last week but we celebrated today with a brunch at their home. It was SO nice!
